eTwinning project
ID: 154455
This project is part of School curriculum.
This project explores natural threats, risks, and disasters. Through the project, students will learn to distinguish between threats, risks, and disasters. They will investigate the most prominent threats in their own environment, connect these threats to their causes, and analyze their consequences. They will also compare local threats with those across Europe. Additionally, students will engage in collaborative education on methods for reducing disaster risks.
GO1. Develop an understanding and recognition of the differences between threats, risks, and disasters.
GO2. Explore and analyze the frequency of natural threats in the local environment, connect the frequency of these threats with their underlying causes, compare local natural threats with those in other regions across Europe.
GO3. Participate in educational activities aimed at reducing disaster risks.
GO3. Developing key competencies for lifelong learning (Literacy; Multilingualism; Numerical, scientific and engineering skills; Digital and technology-based competences; Interpersonal skills, and the ability to adopt new competences; Active citizenship; Entrepreneurship; Cultural awareness and expression) as well as contribute to the development of cross-curricular themes such as Personal and Social Development, Learning How to Learn, and Sustainable Development.

After all the students introduced themselves, they chose another student and used a no-signup AI image creator to create an image of that student.
We were puting our proposals of logo of the project usin Netboard.me and we used the same tool for voting.

This activity was conducted by students on the TwinSpace forum, focusing on the definition and recognition of threats, risks, and disasters. The discussion was structured across three threads: Threats, Risks, and Disasters, encouraging students to contribute to all topics.
Each team created a presentation about the local situation (threats, risks, and disasters) and compiled them into a shared eBook. For the eBook, we used Book Creator.
Each team has two mentors, and the mentors have chosen and organized a collaborative space.
Our team, Landslide, chose Digipad as the collaborative space.
The students, together with their mentors, collaboratively created an ebook as a foundation for the survival guide developed by international teams. Each partner team had its own task in the creation of the ebook.
The partner teams created cards for a board game inspired by *Shit Happens*. Each partner team was responsible for a specific natural disaster. We designed the cards using the digital tool Canva, printed, and laminated them.
This way, we created an engaging game that we can play with anyone while raising awareness about natural disasters and practicing English!
The French students, together with their mentor, a physics teacher, created protocols for conducting experiments related to natural disasters: volcanoes, earthquakes, floods, droughts, landslides, and wildfires.
The partner teams carried out the experiments they had the opportunity to conduct, and they could also watch videos of these experiments and draw conclusions based on them.
For Language Day, they collaboratively created a small digital dictionary with words related to the project theme. The partners recorded audio clips in their own language and the languages of the partners using the digital tool Thinglink.
We celebrated Code Week through the activity I, too, reduce risk. The goal of this activity was to design our names using Ai tools as an expresion on natural disasters. So, the result should be a good evidence of how everything is in our hands!
For SID, we are creating a collaborative activity among students.
We fairly distribute the questions about safety among ourselves and record responses to the assigned questions (Digidoc). This way, we create a collaborative product featuring interaction among students (Canva).
To celebrate these anniversaries, we have prepared a real treat! Through forum discussions, we came up with as many topics (related to Europe Day and eTwinning Day) as there are project partners.
After assigning each topic to a specific partner, students created scripts and recorded podcasts.
