Welcome to Teyvat, a world of seven nations and seven elements
This website will serve as a complete guide to highly expansive and complex story of this world. Whether you're coming here knowing nothing about this game, or you've been playing for a bit and don't know what to do next, I hope that this guide will provide some useful pointers for you!
This guide will ideally be as objective and positive as I can possibly make it at all times. With such a large playerbase comes a wide range of opinions about Genshin's story, and I think it's best for new people to come to their own conclusions before hearing what the general public has to say. My hope is that if you are a new player, you can experience the story organically and in a logical order and decide for yourself what makes this story work for you.
Note: I'm still working on making this guide even better! All quests are added, but I intend to add other sources of lore in as time goes on
The game's story is mostly told through the various quest systems in game. There are three primary quest types: Archon Quests, Story Quests, and World Quests, and each aims to tell a different part of Teyvat's story.
Archon Quests are what can be considered as the main story in the game, and are the most relevant quests. They are marked by yellow indicators in game.
Story Quests are quests that focus more on specific characters. While not as vital to the main story, they are still very connected to the main story and will help you learn more about each character on a deeper level. Many of these quests involve events that will later be referenced in Archon Quests, and are therefore worth doing ahead of time. These are also marked with yellow indicators, but usually require you to interact with some menus in order to start them.
World Quests are usually more minor quests with a focus on the world-building. They are typically unvoiced, and their content can range from anything between running errands for NPCs to exploration and lore drops involving the history of Teyvat as a whole or of specific nations. While less frequently referenced in Archon Quests early on, later regions have started to incorporate lore from World Quests in them, and so they have become more and more important. They are marked by blue indicators in game.
With all that out of the way, let's move on to the story!
