Why Mississippi and Puerto Rico?

The butterflies are our tool for learning, but its teaching you and advancing our scientific knowledge that are the purpose of this project. Mississippi and Puerto Rico have a wealth of talent and resources ready to contribute to these efforts. This project leverages a long collaboration between researchers at MSU and UPR and investments of both universities into developing competitive research and training programs in genomics and bioinformatics. Through this project we will build the expertise in Mississippi and Puerto Rico and prepare the next generation of researchers to tackle the scientific needs of their future.
