Authors' note and artist statement: The use of various AI tools, including generative AI, supported content creation within this Google Site. These tools were used to produce video and podcast artifacts in the Gallery and Intro sections, as well as to help identify and curate video tutorials and links for a range of software tools within the Participant’s Guide. Our group found AI to be an effective and efficient means of developing specific components of our project. Importantly, the overall design concept for GenExchange, including its underlying scholarship, site structure, and organization, was created entirely by group members without the assistance of AI.

Copilot was used for ideas around structuring the Participant Guide. Only a small selection of these results were ultimately used as many results (or portions thereof) weren't relevant or were already in use in our project.
However, prompts for collecting tutorials and links for software and social media tools were used in GenExchange.
Other helpful prompts included assistance with creating a "to do" checklist for participants.
ChatGPT was used to improve the clarity of our written content and to suggest ways to reorganize the draft user guide into a website format with more streamlined content.
It was also specifically used to brainstorm assessment ideas for the Facilitator guide. We had a general idea of what we wanted to emphasize in the assessments, relating to our themes of participation and community-building, and how each phase should align with the BC curriculum guide. ChatGPT was used to gather a list of examples that we could select from or use as inspiration.
Finally, AI tools were also used to help set up, navigate, and troubleshoot the collaborative features of the website, including enabling users to submit content to the Gallery and Intro sections, as well as contribute drawings to the Graffiti Wall.
ElevenLabs was used for the ai voicing of an independently written script for a podcast model within the GenExchange Gallery.
CanvaAI was utilized to generate the Sample Rubric examples.
Sora was utilized to generate two of the video artifacts featured in the Gallery section.
DeepMind was utilized to generate some of the initial introductory videos artifacts featured in the Intro section.
Claude was used to assist with coding various embedded components of the website, including the backend integration with Firebase, as well as for contributing to the rough draft of one of the artifacts.
