At Genera Genealogical Services, we specialize in Western and Eastern European ancestry as well as American lineages. Our focus is on thorough, well-documented research reports backed by verified records and historical context.
We also offer advanced research capabilities thanks to fluency in Russian and reading proficiency in French, German, Ukrainian, Church Slavonic, and Latin, allowing me to access and interpret original records across multiple regions.

Genealogical Research — Full research into your family lines, including record retrieval, analysis, and a professionally written report with source citations and document copies. Most projects begin with one or two blocks; complex or multi-line research may require additional blocks as the work progresses.
Surname Report — A focused research report on a single surname: origin and meaning of the name, earliest documented occurrences, geographic distribution, major migration patterns, and key record sets. One block minimum ($375).
Brick Wall Research — Targeted investigation of a specific genealogical problem: an ancestor who disappears from records, conflicting sources, unverified claims, or a line that dead-ends. One block minimum ($375).
Royal Descent and Lineage Society Screening — Evaluation of your documented tree for potential connections to royal gateway ancestors or eligibility for lineage societies (Mayflower, DAR, SAR, and others). Includes a written assessment with findings and recommended next steps.
DNA Analysis — Professional review of your DNA results to explore matches, confirm relationships, and integrate findings into your family tree.
After an initial email consultation (free), we agree on research goals and you pay the first block upfront. I work approximately one hour per day on each project, so a five-hour block typically takes five to seven business days. You receive a written, source-cited report at the conclusion of each block, and we discuss whether additional research is needed before proceeding.
Bonus: I create a free private tree on Ancestry.com that you can view without a subscription. I'm not affiliated with Ancestry and am not here to sell you memberships.
What if I don't know much about my family history? That's perfectly fine. Many clients start with just a few names or even less. I'll work with whatever information you have and use professional research techniques to build from there.
How far back can you typically trace? It varies by family and available records. American lines often trace to colonial times (1600s–1700s), while European lines can sometimes reach medieval nobility. The availability of records is the main limiting factor.
What records do you have access to? I have access to major genealogical databases including Ancestry.com, FamilySearch, MyHeritage, and regional archives. My language skills also allow me to access original European documents many researchers cannot read.
Do I need an Ancestry.com subscription? No. I provide you with a free private tree that you can view without any subscription.
How long does a typical project take? I work approximately one hour per day on each client's project, so a five-hour block typically takes five to seven business days. I'll provide updates when the report is complete.
Can you work with DNA results? Yes. I analyze DNA results alongside traditional records to confirm relationships and discover new family branches.
