Johnson City Public Library

Genealogy Pathfinder

Welcome!

This pathfinder is designed to help burgeoning genealogists begin their journey into their ancestral past. Here you will find a plethora of useful resources such as annotated books lists, recommended journal articles, useful websites, helpful videos, and more. While its primary focus is on Johnson City and Washington County, you may find it useful for other aspects of genealogical discovery. Please note that this pathfinder isn't considered to be exhaustive. There are plenty of other resources and materials to be explored outside of what is covered here.

Most of the resources mentioned here are located within the Johnson City Public Library's Tennessee Room, their non-circulating special collection of rare books, local history, and genealogical materials. It is located on the second floor to the left of the stairs. Those with additional questions should contact the Johnson City Public Library's Adult Services Department by calling (423) 434-4454 or filling out the contact form at https://www.jcpl.org/contact-us/ .

This pathfinder was created by Kyle Johnson in partial fulfillment for "LIS501: Reference and Information Services" at the University of Southern Mississippi.
