Information for Players
Fourth Gemini Open Minigolf Competition on Sunday 10th May 2026
at Tredegar Park Minigolf, Tredegar Park, Newport. NP20 3AJ.
This will be 6 rounds of stroke play on the 9 hole course.
Golf Ball only.

Practice:
All paid up entrants, whether BMGA members or not, are entitled to £10 per day practice rate in advance of the event. Geminigolfclub members have a day rate of £8.
The course is open Friday 8th May. Please check opening hours with the course owners: Tredegar Park Minigolf Facebook and website for updated information.
Timings
The course will open at 8.00 am on Sunday 10th May for practice, and the competition will begin at 9.00 am.
It is expected that the competition including prize giving will finish by 3.00 pm.
During this break the playoff, if needed, for the winner of most aces on Hole 9 will take place. This will be a knockout ace competition at Hole 9. Hard luck if you ace Hole 9 in round 6, this will not count. Just be thankful that’s the last time you play it.
All other prize playoffs will be sudden death from Hole 1 and proceeding round the course.
Eligibility
A novice is either someone who has not played in a British Minigolf Association (BMGA) Ranking competition previously or whose name does not appear on the BMGA Order of Merit ranking list.
A Junior is a Player aged under 18 on the day of the competition.
Players aged under 14 must be accompanied during the competition by a responsible adult.
Players under 18 or those with additional needs may be accompanied on the course by a responsible non-playing adult. If the responsible adult is taking part, please advise the organisers so that you can be put into adjacent groups.
Otherwise, only non-playing referees are allowed on the course during play.

Photographs and video taken during the event may be shared on social media.
By entering you are acknowledging that you have read and agree to abide by the competition rules.
Entrance fee is payable by PayPal via geminigolfclub@gmail.com or BACs. To use BACs please email for bank details. If you are using PayPal please put your name on the payment, then email geminigolfclub@gmail.com with your contactable email address details. You will then receive acknowledgment and any future communications relating to the competition.
Alternatively, you may pay at the course.
A Player’s Pack with any further details will be emailed to all participants in the week before the competition.
Prizes:
The main prizes are for Male and Female categories. If you wish to identify as Non-binary, please let the organisers know.
If more than 3 under 18s enter, there will be a Junior Prize.
If more than 3 Novices enter, there will be a Novice Prize.
With the exception of the overall Champion, you can only win a prize in one category.
The exact amount of the prize money will not be determined until after the deadline for entries.
Competition Rules:
Any golf ball may be used, but you must complete Holes 1-8 with the same ball. You can change it each round if you wish, but you must stick to what you started each round with.
A low bounce golf ball is provided for you to borrow for Hole 9 only. You must use the same ball for each shot required until it goes in.
Hole Specific Rules:
Hole 3 if your ball does not go down the pipe, tee off again.
Hole 4: if you do not clear the bottleneck obstacle, tee off again.
Hole 8: if you do not clear the obstacle, tee off again – i.e do not reposition your ball on the slope.
Hole 9: You may play with the golf ball you have been using for the other holes; OR: A low bounce golf ball will be provided please replace at the start of the hole if you use this.
Facilities:
We expect to have a live link with the scores on Bangolf.
The course is situated within a Council run park. Parking is chargeable and there are toilet facilities next to the course.
