Our experience began on Sunday morning. Our first flight was from Thessaloniki to Istanbul. After a delay of about one hour, we landed in Valencia in the afternoon and finally arrived at our destination, Dénia, at around 21:00.
The host families were waiting for us at the entrance of the school, IES Sort de la Mar, eagerly looking forward to welcoming our students. Both the Spanish and Greek students immediately felt comfortable, as they had already met during the mobility to Greece in October 2025.
The Spanish teachers escorted us to our hotel, and shortly afterwards we went to meet the rest of the partners, who had arrived earlier, at a restaurant in the city center of Dénia. Although the weather was unusually bad for the region, it did not dampen our spirits or our enthusiasm.
On Monday morning, we went to school starting with the welcoming ceremony. The headmistress of the Spanish institution welcomed students and teachers and the customary exchange of gifts and photographs followed.
Shortly after, students presented the presentations they had prepared. It was really interesting to see all the different ideas.
After that, we went to the cafeteria and enjoyed some snacks prepared by the cantina. The food was very tasty and gave us energy for the rest of the day.
Later, teachers and students were divided in groups and Spanish people gave us a tour of the school. We explored all the facilities and saw how big and well-organized it was, with separate classrooms for each activity, and thematic cornes which impressed us a lot.
With great interest, the Spanish students attended our teacher Mr Tzanidis’s presentation. Although he is a mathematician, he explained in a very clear and engaging way several Greek words that have been adopted by science and international languages.
When school finished, Lefteris and I, along with our Spanish brothers, went to a restaurant where we tasted many different kinds of food such as seafood, salad, ham, and much more. Everything was absolutely delicious, and I ate so much that I could barely breathe!
In the afternoon, we went for a walk to discover Dénia and spent quality time with the Spanish students. We walked around the town, visited shops, went to a supermarket, and shared many small moments that I know I will remember forever.
Afterwards, we relaxed and had fun with other Erasmus participants. It was a great opportunity to get to know our new friends better, share stories, and laugh together.
Last but not least, my friend and I went for a peaceful walk at the port before heading home. The view was beautiful, and it was the perfect way to end the day before enjoying a well-deserved, restful sleep.
While, the students had fun, Greek teachers took the opportunity to visit Alicante, a big city one hour by bus from Denia. They strolled around the old part of the city center, and took the lift and went up to the castle. The view was marvelous!

On Tuesday, the day started at the city hall of Denia, in a very special way with a theatrical tour of Dénia led by an actor- guide called “Márquez de Denia”. The tour was not only informative but also extremely funny, as he brought the history of the city to life through stories, humor, and acting. We learned about Dénia’s rich past, from its ancient roots and medieval times to its importance as a coastal city. Walking through the streets felt like traveling back in time, and the stories made the city even more fascinating.
After the tour, we visited the local fresh market. It was full of colors, smells, and energy. There were many different stalls selling fresh fish, meat, vegetables, fruits, and local products. It was a great chance to see how locals shop and to experience everyday life in Dénia. The tour was ended in the old part center of Denia with the customary group photo.
Later, we returned to school to take part in an activity about beekeeping with the help of a professional beekeeper. We learned how bees live and work together, how they produce honey, and why they are so important for nature and the environment. The process was very interesting and helped us understand how much effort is needed to produce something as simple and natural as honey. The most enjoyable parts were making our own candle using beeswax and string, which was both fun and creative and trying the suit of the beekeeper!
After school ended, we went back home. My friend Bilal and I ate bean soup and a salad with potatoes, which was simple but very tasty. Teachers stayed at school where they had lunch in it's canteen. A delicious Spanish traditional soup was offered with main ingredient octapus and vegetables.
In the evening, we, students, went for a walk and some shopping at the Dénia mall. Later, we had dinner there at an American fast-food restaurant called Popeyes, where we enjoyed fried chicken. After we finished eating, Bilal’s mother came to pick us up, and we returned home.

On Wednesday, we started our day by meeting at school early in the morning and then getting on the bus for our trip to the beautiful city of Valencia. The excitement was high as we left Dénia and headed toward one of the most historic and lively cities in Spain.
Our first stop was the historical center of Valencia. We walked through narrow streets full of history, surrounded by impressive old buildings, churches, and plazas that showed the city’s rich past. We saw famous landmarks and learned interesting facts about them while participating in a fun quiz about everything we observed, which made the tour even more engaging and interactive.
After exploring the old town, the group was divided in smaller teams each one had its own experience. The Greek team visited the legendary stadium of Valencia C.F., Mestalla. The stadium was truly impressive, full of history, passion, and football spirit. We learned about the club’s long tradition and imagined how incredible it must feel to watch a match there, surrounded by thousands of cheering fans. Most of the girls went to the mall along with some teachers while the rest of the participants preferred to stroll around the modern city of Valencia.
Next, we got back on the bus and headed to an horchata factory. There, separated in two groups each one with a tour guide, we discovered how horchata is produced, starting from the cultivation of tiger nuts (chufa) to the final refreshing drink. It was very interesting to see the whole process and understand how this traditional Valencian product is made.
Of course, the best part was tasting it! We tried fresh horchata accompanied by fartons, and it was delicious. We loved the unique flavor and found it very refreshing.
At around 6 p.m., we returned to Dénia. To make the day even more memorable, one of my friends won 18€ at roulette, which made us all laugh and celebrate.
To end our day in the best possible way, we went out to eat French burritos, relaxing and talking about all the amazing moments we had experienced.
Overall, Valencia was a stunning city full of history and energy. The Mestalla stadium was impressive, and the horchata experience was unforgettable. We truly hope that everyone gets the chance to visit Valencia and try horchata at least once in their life!

On Thursday, we started our day by going to school in the morning, where we attended the first lesson together with the Spanish students. During this lesson, we had the opportunity to observe how classes are organized and to work alongside the students, which helped us understand their daily school routine and educational system. This experience also allowed us to communicate more and cooperate in a classroom environment.
After the lesson, we visited Hort Obert, an open garden where we learned about a wide variety of garbage and lettuce, vegetables and plants, some of them were local varieties. We were informed about how these vegetables are grown, how they are cared for, and how they are divided according to the seasons of the year. The visit was very informative, and we also had the chance to taste some fresh vegetables, which helped us better understand their quality and use in everyday life.
At noon, students had luch at the families while all the teachers went at the village Pego to tast another traditional spanish dish "Putxero" and a traditional spanish coffee served with alcochol in flames "carajillo".
In the afternoon, students went to Benidorm, where we spent time bowling together with the Spanish students. This activity allowed us to interact in a more informal way and strengthen our cooperation as a group. Finally, we visited a shopping mall with a beautiful panoramic view of the surrounding area, which was a relaxing and suitable way to end a full day of educational and cultural activities. Overall, the hospitality was amazing, and all the Spanish hugged us and we might call ourselves like a family now.

On Friday, we had a very busy and enjoyable day full of activities. In the morning, we worked together on a project, where we shared ideas, cooperated as a team, and learned new things.
While students work in the computer lab, teachers were called to give an interview about their experience of the mobility on podcast.
After finishing the project, we cooked cocas together. This activity was very interesting and fun, and everyone participated actively.
Afterwards, all participant students went in the open classroom that it was in the school yard and play a teambuilding game with questions. There was a specific time in which we had to answer and the time was begun and finished with a old type bell.
Later, we presented our work and explained the steps we followed and the results we achieved. After the presentations, we had lunch at school, where we relaxed and spent time talking with the friends we made.
The Erasmus+ project in Denia was completed with a group photo.
In the afternoon, our teachers had a long walk at the new part of the sea side of Denia.
At night, all students went together to a club. There was music, and we danced and had a great time. Everyone was happy, and the atmosphere was very positive. It was a memorable experience and a great way to end the mobility. We had a nice time at this week that I believe anybody can forget.
Departure day arrived with mixed feelings of happiness and sadness. In the morning, we packed our bags and said goodbye to our host families, who had made us feel welcome and comfortable from the very first day. The goodbyes were emotional, as in such a short time we had created strong bonds, shared unforgettable moments, and felt like part of one big family.
Afterwards, we gathered together for the last time, exchanging hugs, smiles, and promises to stay in touch. Although we were excited to return home and share our experiences, it was hard to leave Dénia and the friends we had made during this mobility.
As we headed to the airport, we reflected on everything we had learned and experienced, the new culture, the friendships, the activities, and the memories that will stay with us forever. This Erasmus+ experience was not just a trip, but a journey full of emotions, learning, and personal growth, which will always have a special place in our hearts.
DIMITRIS: "Overall, the whole experience was amazing. Most of the people were incredibly kind, and I made new friends that I truly hope to stay in touch with in the future."
STAVRIANNA: "We had a nice time all this week. Our experience will be memorable through years."

I was living with a Moroccan family, and although we had some differences, such as religion and daily habits, they were extremely kind and welcoming. They made me feel comfortable and treated me like a member of their family, which made this experience even more meaningful.
LEFTERIS: "
