Sites

Google Sites is a tool that helps you to build websites quickly and easily with no experience of making one before. It recently had an update so the new Google Sites is simple and fast to use, utilising a simple drag and drop feature and an easy upload capability, making it really fast to add videos and files to your webpage. This website was built using it and it is very intuitive on how to add a page, text or additional image. It also has a range of themes to make your website stand out.

  • For the exam you are expected to be able to:
  • Understand how to name your site
  • Add additional pages and subpages
  • Add text and images and move them around your site
  • Embed a video, map or doc into your site
  • Change the theme, colour of layout of your site or add an image to your theme

This is a video by Frank Avella. He has many videos that cover each unit on the Google Fundamentals course. This video covers Google Sites, there are others available on his YouTube channel.

This is an excellent video by Brett Petrillo which shows you the things you need to know about Google Sites for the Level 1 exam. Only half of this video is about Sites.

Feel ready to test your knowledge on Google Sites? Below is a link to the training centre's knowledge test and also a challenge to practice what you have learnt. Our thanks to Jonathan Frye for the ideas for the challenges.
