Go to Creat a Gmail Account , click the blue Establish an account button at the top right of the screen, enter your first and last names, your selected username, and then a strong password to create a new Gmail account.
Put your mobile phone number in the field on the following screen. You will receive a code via SMS to your mobile device, which you must enter on the following screen. When you click the blue Verify button, a new screen will appear asking you to enter your date of birth, gender, and a backup email address in case you lose access to the one you're creating right now. This step is optional, but it's a good idea if you have access to another email.
By selecting Skip in the bottom left of the screen, you can avoid being requested to register your phone number in order to use additional features like receiving video calls and texts and improving the relevancy of advertisements.
You will be given the option of Express personalization or Manual personalization on the following screen. Although the latter is longer, we advise clicking it so you may decide how much information you want to give with Google. After completing those steps, you will be prompted to accept Google's Privacy and Terms.
Once you've done so, your new inbox will be displayed. When asked if you wish to enable smart features, you should do so because they are helpful and are easily deactivated if you change your mind. You will be prompted to enable Personalize additional Google products on the following screen. These features are helpful, so you might want to enable them and give them a try.
The downside of turning on those features, however, is that it offers Google much more information about you, and you might prefer not to share that data.
Your next step is to customise your preferences: click on the cogwheel icon in the top right-hand corner and you'll see some options appear on the right of the screen. You can experiment with those until you find the way you prefer your inbox.
