VEX is the largest robotics company in the world, spanning over 50 countries, 20,000 teams and 150,000 members who take part in the competition. VEX is endorsed by many of the world's largest companies, such as Google, Microsoft, Dell, Tesla and Amazon as well as many government organisations such as NASA and the US Army.
The competition revolves around a challenge that changes every year. Teams must design, build and program a robot to compete with at tournaments and competitions held year-round at regional, national and international stages.
The VEX Robotics Competition promotes classroom STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) concepts that are put to the test as students learn lifelong skills in teamwork, leadership and communication. It encourages students all across the globe to leave their comfort zone and push themselves to be the best they can be.
Out of all these highly competitive teams, only 800 manage to get the highly prestigious position of participating in the World Championships.
VEX IQ Full Volume is played on a 8ftx6ft field. The primary scoring elements are blocks of different sizes, which we need to score in goals in different corners of the field. We are awarded bonus points based upon completing various tasks during the 60-second matches.
