Dr. Aimee Bridges was recently featured in The RE/collection, an exclusive alumni exhibition hosted by the School of Art and Design at East Carolina University. On view from August 24 through September 26, 2026, the showcase brought together extraordinary works from distinguished graduates to celebrate the rich legacy of ECU’s artistic community.
Dr. Bridges’ featured artwork, Destiny Awaits, is a powerful 24" x 30" acrylic painting on canvas. Displayed in the Wellington B. Gray Gallery inside the Jenkins Fine Arts Center in Greenville, North Carolina, the piece stood out for its vibrant palette and deep thematic resonance. Through Destiny Awaits, Dr. Bridges explores themes of self-actualization, continuous growth, and purpose; a narrative that seamlessly connects her personal studio practice with her broader educational philosophy.
I’m proud to be speaking at Youth Agency, Arts Activism, and Color Theory in Education at the American University School of Education’s Summer Institute on Education, Equity, and Justice (SIEEJ), which takes place from June 19 to 21, 2025.
