How did everyone become so fluent in their first language/mother language? Yes, we began listening even from our mother's womb. As babies we babbled, picked up words, and started framing sentences, sometimes correct, sometimes not, and then, we started speaking. After that, we learned to read letters, words, and sentences...reading stories, novels, nonfiction, newspapers, and so on. Then came our writing process.
We speak to our favourite people in our mother language and we love it. How about English? It is no more a foreign language. We have moulded English catering to the Indian needs.
