About Me
About Me
HELLO!
My name is Hassonil A. Jones II. I am attending Arizona State University's Fulton School of Engineering to pursue a degree in Chemical Engineering with a Certification in Mathematical Concepts in Engineering. I showed my love of using scientific concepts to solve problems and my interest in pursuing chemical engineering in 8th grade after choosing several STEAM career projects; one of those projects went to the state level. As a dual-enrolled 2022 graduate of Mesa’s Mountain View High School and Mesa Community College, I demonstrated grit, perseverance, and courage to become a better version of myself by working very hard from preschool to now and doing my personal best in everything I am responsible for. I have learned to overcome challenges by looking at the positive side of negative situations.
My future objective is to figure out my field of interest. Participating in the Grand Challenge Scholars Program would give me the knowledge, skills, and experience that I need to develop. Learning to analyze and solve problems, working with a team, communicating with others, meeting deadlines, and managing tasks are all skills that open doors to professional advancement, personal growth, and many opportunities. When I have gained the experience and knowledge, I plan to begin my career to help make this world a better place by addressing pollution, harnessing new energy sources, developing new medicines, and building new structures.
This is my portfolio for the Grand Challenge Scholars Program (GCSP), which I joined because they provide transformational experiences that produce graduates committed to building inclusive and collaborative communities where they lead innovation and drive breakthroughs that improve the world. Sustainability is the GCSP theme I will be exploring this year. My interests include engineering better medicines, providing energy from fusion to eliminate greenhouse gases, and developing more effective carbon sequestration methods. I hope that by participating in this program, I will become an engineer focused on solving future problems.
