In June of 2019, I attended GCSP Entrepreneurial Experience: Sustainability hosted by Arizona State university.
In this 3-week experience me and my group members (shown in the picture to the left) researched and designed automated composting for Susan Norton who is working as Program Coordinator at University Sustainability Practices, Polytechnic campus , ASU.
During the experience I collaborated with team mates from multi-institution and accomplished following objectives:
Explored applications of sustainability in non-profit, public, government, and private sectors
Made industry connections and explore real world applications
Made progress towards the Viable Business/Entrepreneurship Competency of GCSP
Explored Arizona with field trips, site visits, and tours in the local and regional area
Built resume by gaining marketable skills desired by industry
UIDAHO GCSP PITCH EVENTS
I have raised more than $10,00 pitching at GCSP annual pitch events. The funds that I secured is used entirely for purchasing materials to propel my research plans.
MICROECONOMICS
During Fall of 2018, I took class microeconomics introductory class. The class focused on marked, cost and benefit principle.
REFLECTION:
Developing competency in entrepreneurship is by far the hardest thing that I have done as a scholar. But it helped me grow the most than other experiences. Some of the things that I have learned through this experience are as follows:
To prepare elevator pitch for research ideas
To be better listener
To use CO*STAR and RIIS methods for pitching
To create budget for research project
