Germany Beyond the Classroom is a program offered by the Judy Genshaft Honors College which allows students to take a course within the honors college covering German history, language, and culture. In this course, I had the opportunity conduct and present undergraduate research along with the chance to present undergraduate research at the University of South Florida 2022 Undergraduate Research Conference. My peers and I went abroad in May 2022 after completing the Honors course.
Once abroad, I had the opportunity to interact with college students attending the University of Osnabrück, attended the Maiwoche festival, and traveled to Berlin, Munster, Bremen, and Hamburg Germany.
In my Germany Beyond the Classroom course taught though the Judy Genshaft Honors College, I had the opportunity to conduct and present my research poster titled "Comparing the Health Care Systems in America and Germany".
Creating this presentation gave my greater insight about the universal healthcare system present in Germany, discusses the culture surrounding healthcare which may play a role in the establishment of the different healthcare systems between America and Germany. My research partner and I also compared the benefits and drawbacks for each of the separate health care systems.
