The "Define" tool is a feature built right into Google Docs that can be used to get definitions and synonyms for a chosen word. Here's how it works:
WriQ - is a new Add-on that helps teachers score and keep track of students’ spelling, punctuation and grammar errors so you can focus on the things computers can’t score.
EasyBib - Automatically cite books, journal articles, and websites just by entering in the titles or URLs. Format citations in MLA, APA, Chicago, Harvard, etc. Insert Bibliography when all sources are added and they will be automatically alphabetized.
This Add-on allows users to easily insert accents for different languages directly from a sidebar in their Google Doc.
Writefull Thesaurus -Search synonyms for any word using the search bar, or select any word in your text and click 'paste from text'. In the synonym list, you can click 'paste' to replace the selected word in your text.
Doc to Form - Doc to Form allows you to quickly and easily create a Google Form from within a Doc. Simply select text and click a button to add your questions. You can choose from a variety of question types - ideal for converting traditional worksheets to Google Forms.
Word Cloud Generator - High impact colorful word clouds with ability to change colors, size of clouds, drop words. Download now enabled in two sizes. Use this add-on to quickly assess what your emerging theme or how to categorize your document.
Screenplay Formatter - a tool that adds the capability of formatting your document files to meet screenplay standards. This app features basic script formatting functions (such as setting your indents for speakers and dialog) tied into easy to use buttons.
A tool that provides a list of rhyming words for any word you select in a Google Document.
Pupil Pref - For students who have a difficult time reading text on a paper, a common accommodation has been to place a colored transparency sheet over the paper so the page has a slight color tint. This can help the student to focus on the text better. The Pupil Pref Add-on aims to do the same thing for digital documents. When you run the Add-on you get a list of 16 colors
You give the student a page of text pulled from a book, article, websites, or such. The student then blacks out all of the text, except for the words they want to leave behind to form a poem. This can be helpful for students struggling to write a poem. This is a common project on paper but translate digitally very well.
