Searching Shortcuts
- ~ = Related Search Terms
- searches for any term that is related to the listed term
- phonebook:
- search for a phone number
- inurl:
- terms are actually within the url/web address
- daterange:
- search by date (tools gives you this option as well)
- movie:
- search for theatre times
- cache:website address
- view a cached version of a website
- site:
- search within a site
- filetype:
- add the type of file you are looking for (ex. png - transparent images)
- Time
- gives you the time
- Weather
- gives you the weather in your current location
- Define:
- definition of the word after
- Translate
- opens Google Translate
- allintext:
- must have the terms you list in the website
- allintitle:
- must have the terms you list in the title of the website
Archive offers a large selection of newspapers both in terms of years and geography. In the Google News Newspaper archive you can search for a specific newspaper, search for article titles, or you can search for a topic.
Or you right-click on any image in Chrome and you can reverse search for an image to see where an image comes from
Personal Searching has been added to the main Google Search Bar
Personal Searching has been added to the main Google Search Bar
- Run a Google Search as normal in the Chrome Omnibox or on the Google website at https://www.google.com
- After you get the normal search results, click on the "More" menu option below the search box.
- Now choose "Personal" from the drop-down menu.
- The normal results will now be replaced with matches from your own data, such as your calendar, photos, emails, and more.
Note: No one else will be able to see these results. These search results can only be accessed by you.
