Thank you for using STOP Numéro Privé ("the App," "we," "our," or "us"). This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles information when you use it. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.
STOP Numéro Privé is a call-screening application that automatically blocks incoming phone calls from numbers with hidden or restricted caller ID (commonly displayed as "Private Number," "Numéro privé," "Unknown," "Restricted," or similar). The App is designed to operate entirely on your device, with no user interface beyond the initial setup, and does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data with us or any third party.
To function, the App requests certain phone-related permissions from your device, which allow it to:
Detect when an incoming call is being received.
Determine whether the caller's number is hidden, blank, or marked as restricted by your carrier.
Decline the call automatically when it matches that criteria.
Act as your device's default call-screening app, a role you grant explicitly through a system permission dialog.
All of this information (caller number, caller ID presentation status) is processed locally, on your device, in real time, at the moment a call is received. This information is:
Not stored by the App beyond the moment needed to evaluate and act on the call.
Not transmitted to us, to any server, or to any third party.
Not shared, sold, or used for advertising, analytics, or any purpose other than screening the call.
The App has no backend server, no analytics SDK, and no network connectivity requirement to perform its core function.
When a call is received, the App checks whether the caller's number is hidden or withheld (commonly displayed as "Private Number" or similar). If so, the App declines the call automatically. All other calls are allowed to ring through normally. This decision-making happens instantly and locally — no data leaves your device.
We do not share any data with third parties because we do not collect any data in the first place. The App does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking libraries.
The App does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under the age of 13 (or the relevant age of digital consent in your jurisdiction), because it does not collect data from any user.
Because no call data or personal information is stored or transmitted by the App, there is no data retention period to disclose — nothing is retained beyond the instantaneous processing required to screen each call.
You may revoke the App's permissions or its role as the default call-screening app at any time via your device's Settings > Apps > [App Name] > Permissions, or Settings > Apps > Default Apps > Call Screening. Revoking these permissions will stop the App from functioning but will not affect any data, since none is stored.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App's functionality or for legal and regulatory reasons. Any changes will be posted at this same URL with an updated "Effective Date." Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
