This Privacy Policy describes how K-Vox ("the App", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use the App.

1. Overview

K-Vox is a messaging application that allows users to send and receive messages.

The App is designed to minimize the amount of information collected from users. We do not require users to provide their real name, email address, telephone number, postal address, or other directly identifying information in order to use the messaging functionality.

The App uses client-side encryption for message content. Encryption keys are generated and retained on client devices and are not transmitted to or stored on our servers.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Random User Identifier

The App uses a randomly generated user identifier ("userUid") to identify a user within the messaging system.

The userUid is used to provide messaging functionality, including associating messages with the appropriate sender and recipient.

The userUid is not intentionally generated from the user's name, email address, telephone number, or other directly identifying information.

2.2 IP Address

When the App communicates with our servers, our servers automatically receive the IP address associated with the connection.

We may record IP addresses in server logs for purposes including:

• operating and maintaining the service;

• preventing spam, abuse, fraud, and malicious activity;

• protecting the security of our infrastructure;

• troubleshooting technical problems;

• monitoring service reliability; and

• complying with applicable legal obligations.

IP addresses are retained for 30 Days and are subsequently deleted, except where a longer retention period is required or permitted for legitimate security or legal purposes.

We do not intentionally use IP addresses to identify users by their real-world identity.

2.3 Messages

The App processes messages in order to provide the messaging service.

Messages are encrypted on the sender's device before they are transmitted to our servers.

The encryption keys are generated on client devices using a cryptographically secure random number generator provided by the Java platform and are retained on client devices. The encryption keys are not transmitted to or stored on our servers.

Our servers therefore receive encrypted message data (ciphertext), rather than the plaintext content of messages.

The server temporarily stores encrypted messages so that they can be delivered to the intended recipient.

After a message has been successfully delivered, the encrypted message is deleted from our database.

Our servers do not normally have access to the plaintext content of messages or to the encryption keys required to decrypt them.

2.4 Technical and Diagnostic Information

Our server infrastructure may generate technical logs necessary for operating and securing the service. Such information may include IP addresses, timestamps, connection information, error information, and other technical information associated with server requests.

We use this information for service operation, security, troubleshooting, and abuse prevention.

3. How We Use Information

We use information collected through the App for purposes including:

• providing and operating the messaging service;

• delivering messages to their intended recipients;

• maintaining user identifiers;

• maintaining and securing our servers;

• preventing spam, abuse, fraud, and malicious activity;

• diagnosing technical problems;

• improving service reliability;

• enforcing our terms and policies; and

• complying with applicable laws and legal obligations.

We do not use message content for advertising purposes.

4. Message Encryption

Message content is encrypted on the user's device before transmission to our servers.

Encryption keys are generated and retained on client devices and are not transmitted to or stored on our servers.

Our servers temporarily process and store encrypted message data solely for the purpose of delivering messages. Encrypted messages are deleted from our database after successful delivery.

Because the encryption keys are not available to our servers, we cannot normally decrypt the encrypted message content stored on our servers.

Users are responsible for maintaining access to the encryption keys or other information necessary to decrypt their messages. Loss of such information may result in messages becoming permanently inaccessible.

5. Advertising and Google AdMob

The App uses Google AdMob to display advertisements, including rewarded advertisements.

AdMob and the Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect and process certain information from the device for purposes including displaying advertisements, measuring advertising performance, preventing fraud and abuse, and improving advertising services.

Depending on the user's device, settings, and the configuration of the advertising services, information processed by AdMob may include:

• IP address;

• advertising identifiers and other device or app identifiers;

• information about interactions with advertisements;

• information relating to advertisement impressions and views;

• diagnostic and performance information; and

• information relating to the use and performance of the App.

Some information may be collected automatically by the Google Mobile Ads SDK when advertisements are displayed or interacted with.

Google processes information collected through its advertising services according to its applicable privacy policies and terms.

6. Sharing of Information

We do not sell or rent users' personal information.

We may share or disclose information when reasonably necessary to:

• provide services required to operate the App;

• use third-party services such as advertising or infrastructure providers;

• protect the security of the App, our servers, or our users;

• prevent fraud, abuse, or other malicious activity;

• comply with applicable laws, regulations, legal processes, or valid governmental requests; or

• protect our rights, property, or safety.

Third-party service providers may process information according to their own privacy policies and terms.

7. Data Retention

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.

Encrypted messages are temporarily stored on our servers for delivery and are deleted from our database after successful delivery.

Server logs containing IP addresses are retained for 30 Days.

The random userUid may be retained for as long as necessary to provide the messaging service.

Information may be retained for longer periods where required or permitted by applicable law, or where necessary for security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or enforcement of our rights.

8. Data Deletion

Because the App does not require users to create an account using a name, email address, or telephone number, there may not be conventional account information associated with a user.

Users may contact us at gauloisec2026@gmail.com to request deletion of information associated with their userUid or other information that we can reasonably identify as belonging to them.

We will evaluate and process deletion requests in accordance with applicable laws and our legitimate operational, security, and legal requirements.

Messages that have already been successfully delivered are automatically deleted from our message database.

9. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information processed through the App.

Communication between the App and our servers is protected using appropriate transport encryption, such as HTTPS/TLS.

Message content is additionally encrypted on the client device before being transmitted to our servers.

Encryption keys are retained on client devices and are not stored on our servers.

Nevertheless, no method of electronic transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

10. Third-Party Services

The App uses third-party services that may process certain information.

Currently, the App uses:

• Google AdMob — advertising and rewarded advertisements.

These third-party services may collect information directly from the App or device according to their own terms and privacy policies.

We recommend reviewing the applicable privacy policies of these providers for additional information about their data practices.

11. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children where such collection is prohibited by applicable law.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.

When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the beginning of this Privacy Policy.

We encourage users to periodically review this Privacy Policy for any changes.
