My name is Michal Prokopec, aka the Black Hat (or just Hat) and I'm the lead developer / organizer of this event.
I have been immersed in the rich lore of the Grimdark for almost 30 years now and have played a wide variety of GW games. Whilst a part of me is actually quite competitive, the dominating part was always more into the narrative side of things. When the time came for me to make a comeback into actually playing WH40K (instead of just reading the lore) with the onset of the ninth edition, I've decided that in order to make things nice and easy for myself and my friends who went with me on this journey I will create a campaign for us. I guess all the years of being a GM for various RPG systems have left their mark on me :)
This humble campaign for just 6 players took us from a Blackstone fortress inspired scenarios, where each player had just their character and a handful of models (literally) all the way to us fighting the campaign finale with Combat Patrol sized armies. The stories were great, we all enjoyed it and it was clear the road would lead to much greater things in the future.
The week of me writing this text is actually the week of my 7th campaign finale. Each one being significantly different from the others, some quite extra rules heavy, others more streamlined and simple. Multiple of them employed great strategic maps and actual planning phases in which players would deliberate and send their moves for the next round. Players played for themselves in some, in teams in others and yes, there were even betrayals and backstabbing (which though unpleasant for some at that time, usually make for the stories that friends talk about years later).
You see - making such campaigns is something I deeply enjoy and you can check some of the websites we used for the campaigns here (though some are in Czech).

Although running and organizing these events has been great fun for me, I always envied the folks playing at the great narrative events, be it the official GW one, or other like the one organized by PlayOn. And as I became the head judge for prestigious competitive tournaments here in Prague, Czechia, and came to meet many of the fantastic players are community has, I began to dream about organizing such a narrative event myself.
As fate would have it, not much later I was contacted by the owner of gamemat.eu and a local hobby store who is also the main organizer of Prague Open wargaming event if by any chance I would like to run a narrative event there. I had to try hard to stay calm and keep my composure, because deep inside I was jubilant.
So that is the past. This was mid-May 2024. Now, about a month later I am already deep into preparations alongside with my two trusted friends.
There is not much I can talk about now, because new ideas keep coming on a daily basis, but I can vouch for something - we are not going for a event similar to a classic tournament just with a story on top. A low-hanging fruit. Nope. You can expect way more. This will be different because we truly are aiming for the stars. We want to deliver the best narrative event we can make, an event that will be the talking point for years to come. And boy you do not want to miss that.
I will try and share as much as I can either here, or on our dedicated discord to show our progress and prove all I wrote above.
