Biography

Gary Casity Jr. is a music educator, conductor, and pianist. He currently serves as the Music Technology and Class Piano Teacher at White Plains High School. Mr. Casity holds New York State and Connecticut Educator Certification in Music (K-12).

Mr. Casity's teaching draws from his extensive professional conducting experience. As an instrumental conductor, Mr. Casity has conducted the Hot Springs Music Festival Orchestra, Waco Symphony, and Baylor University Symphony. He has also worked as conductor and pianist for Sarasota Opera, Opera New Jersey, Opera Southwest, Opera in the Ozarks, Mercury Opera, Commonwealth Opera, dell’Arte Opera, Vertical Player Repertory, and City College of San Francisco.

Mr. Casity is committed to bridging divides through music. To further this aim, he was awarded a Fund for Teachers fellowship for study during the summer of 2018, where he performed at the Silkroad Global Musician Workshop, and served as an international delegate at the Music in Schools and Teacher Education Commission in Prague.

Mr. Casity is a graduate of The Florida State University, Baylor University, and Hunter College/City University of New York. He is active participant in the Carnegie Hall Music Educators Workshop, and is an alum of the Lincoln Center Scholars Program, as well as the Aspen Music Festival and School.
