2025/10

Our paper on ultra-wide-bandgap semiconductor CaSnO3 MOSFET, led by Weideng, has been published on Advanced Electronic Materials: https://doi.org/10.1002/aelm.202500459 . This marks the first research paper led by our group!

2025/09

PI Qiu received the prestigious DARPA Young Faculty Award (YFA)! The project will explore a novel electron hydrodynamic refrigerator to provide on-demand cooling power for quantum technologies.

PI Qiu is appointed to the graduate faculty in the School of Physics and Astronomy!

Milestone achieved: First publication as a proud Gopher! Our review paper on the unconventional quantum Hall effect is coming online at Applied Physics Letters, and highlighted at the Editor's Pick: https://doi.org/10.1063/5.0245526. Congratulations Weideng! 

2025/01 - Junghyun Koo joins our group as a PhD student. Welcome on board!

2024/07 -  Our Quantum Design Dynacool cryostat with the dilution fridge unit is commissioned! We are able to measure our very first device!

2024/06 - Our recent paper on chiral molecule intercalated 2D superconductors, in collaboration with the UCLA teams, is published in Nature! https://www.nature.com/articles/s41928-024-01176-2

2024/06 - Welcome Weideng Sun, joining the group as a postdoctoral researcher! 

2024/05 - Welcome Soren Villafane and Caleb Armstrong, joining the group as undergraduate student researchers! 

2023/09 - Welcome to the Quantum Electronics Laboratory at the University of Minnesota! Prof. Gang Qiu will start his lab in Jan 2024. Excited to embark on a new journey!
