I am the current President of the Gage Gators Foundation. I have a 5th grader, 2st grader, and 1st grader in the Spanish Immersion Program. I too was a student of SDUSD’s Spanish immersion program. I have served on a handful of nonprofit organizations, from church leadership to events. 

Hello! I’m excited to serve as this year's Vice President for the Gage Gators Foundation. I have a 4th grader and 2nd grader, both in the Spanish Immersion Program. I have been part of the District Behavior Team in a neighboring school district for the past 15 years. Working in schools, as well as volunteering on campus, has taught me how important it is to have family and community involvement. I love being a part of this community and enjoy finding new ways to help support Gage!

I’m excited to serve as this year’s Vice President of Membership for the Gage Foundation! First and foremost, I’m mom to Eloise and Indigo, incoming second and first graders. I’m a passionate champion of inclusivity and community-building, and I’m committed to helping every family feel welcomed, valued, and connected. I began my career in the nonprofit sector, working directly with gang-involved young people in Boston to help break cycles of poverty, violence, and mass incarceration, and have since served on nonprofit boards supporting underserved youth and communities. In my current 9-to-5, I’m an agency Creative Director, partnering with some of the world’s biggest brands to develop marketing initiatives that are strategic, diverse, and inclusive. I’m truly an open book, so please direct any and all questions my way. You can usually find me at CheerForce, shamelessly stalking my girls from the back parking lot and living my best cheer mom life.

I am the current Treasurer for the Gage Gators Foundation. I have a daughter in 3rd Grade in the Spanish immersion program, and a daughter in 6th Grade at Pershing Middle School. I work full-time in the accounting industry, but love spending time with my kids and being a part of the community and finding new ways to improve and support our school!

Hello, I am the Gage Foundation Secretary, and I previously served on the PTA as the Board Secretary for two years. I have two daughters at Gage, one in third grade and one in first grade. I have a background in non profits and have also volunteered at Gage in a variety of ways over the last few years. I look forward to all of the fun and educational programming and events that strengthen our school community and enrich our students. 

I am serving as the Auditor on the Gage foundation.  I have a 2nd and 3rd grader in the Spanish Immersion program.  I have been in management for 20 plus years.  I have served on different nonprofit boards. My hope is we can continue to build the Gage community to be more inclusive, welcoming, and supportive to all families. 

Hello, I'm excited to be a part of the Gage Foundation. My Gage Gators are in TK and 3rd grade. I believe that strong communities are built on connection. I hope to spread the word, whether it's about an upcoming fundraiser or making sure every family feels in the loop, I'm focused on building bridges between the school, families, and the wider community. I enjoy volunteering at the school and am passionate about connection, so please say hi when you see me!  

I am excited to serve as the Gage Gators Foundation Historian! I have a background in school nursing, eight years of experience with the Chula Vista Elementary School District, and am a Gage parent of a 2nd grader in the Spanish program and a 5th grader in STEM.

For the past five years, I have loved volunteering at Gage and getting to know the students, teachers, and families who make our school so special. As Historian, I hope to document our events, traditions, and volunteer efforts in a way that strengthens our organization and helps future volunteers feel supported and prepared.

I am passionate about fostering a school community that celebrates diversity and prioritizes inclusion and accessibility, so all families feel welcomed, valued, and able to participate in a meaningful way.

I’m Emily Pickering, the current Parlimentarian for the Gage Gators Foundation. I have a 4th grader and a 2nd grader both in the Spanish program. I am currently a teacher in San Diego Unified and I have been a lifelong volunteer serving in various leadership roles. I love giving back to my community and look forward to working together to make Gage even better!

I’m proud to be a Gage parent and honored to be part of this year’s DEI team. I’m the proud parent of a 2nd grader in Gage’s STEM program, and being part of the Gage community has given me an even greater appreciation for the importance of creating a school environment where every student and family feels welcomed, valued, and included.

I’m passionate about building community and creating opportunities for families to come together and celebrate the diversity that makes Gage so special. I’ve had the opportunity to serve on several PTA committees, including Fall Festival and Día de Muertos, and I truly enjoy being involved in events that bring our school community together. I believe that when we come together, share our traditions and experiences, and support one another, we create a stronger and more connected community for our children.

Outside of Gage, I’m very involved in my church and enjoy giving back through service and community involvement. I also work in the legal field, where I’ve developed a strong appreciation for advocacy, communication, and helping others—values that I hope to bring to my role within the Gage community.

Hi! I’m Sabrina Diaz, and I have the privilege of serving alongside my sister Brenda Diaz, as one of this year’s DEI Coordinators for the Gage Gators Foundation. I’m a proud mom of three amazing Gators; Pablo and Carmello, who are in 1st grade in the STEM program and my incoming TK’er, Venus. Being a Gage parent has shown me how important it is to create a school community where every student, family and caregiver feels welcomed valued, and like they truly belong.

I’m excited to see how our efforts this year will continue to strengthen our community by celebrating the many cultures, backgrounds, and experiences that make Gage so special. To me, DEI is about making sure everyone feels seen, heard, respected and included. As someone from a minority background, this work is deeply personal, and I hope every family knows they have a place here at Gage.

Outside of volunteering, I’m currently pursuing a career in healthcare while balancing motherhood, and community service. I look forward to working alongside our incredible students, families, staff, and Foundation to help make Gage a place where every Gator feels welcome, supported, and celebrated!

I’m serving as the Gage Gator Foundation Fundraising and Grant Coordinator. This is my 8th year as a Gage parent and 1st year as a Pershing SLIM parent. I’m parent to a 4th grader in the Spanish Immersion Program. I also work at Gage as a noon-duty assistant and I volunteer regularly in the library and in my kid’s classrooms. 

My hope, is that with this new Foundation we can provide an enriching learning experience for every Gage Gator and provide opportunities for families to build a strong Gage community.

Hi, I’m Joe Ferro, Associate Principal at Gage Elementary and proud parent of a recent Gage graduate! I’ve been part of San Diego Unified for 19 years, with 16 of those spent in the classroom. Those years as a teacher shaped how I lead today—always keeping students and teachers at the heart of my work.

I love supporting teachers as they grow as instructional leaders and helping students develop into curious, confident learners who are ready for what comes next. Every day, I’m inspired by the energy, creativity, and resilience of our Gage community.

Outside of school, I enjoy reading, running, and spending time with my family.
