I am a labour economist at Banca d'Italia, where I lead the Labour Market Outlook team. I study how workers, firms and migrants adjust to economic shocks, from immigration and remote work to job reallocation.
I am currently on a short-term research leave at EIEF.
In 2024 I spent a semester as a Visiting Fellow at the STICERD Centre at the LSE. In 2020-2022 I worked as an economic advisor to the Italian Minister for Relations with Parliament. I received my Ph.D. from the Department of Economics at the University of California, Davis. I am also affiliated with the Fondazione Rodolfo Debenedetti and I am currently collaborating with the OECD LinkEED 2.0 project. Please download my CV here.
I organized the CEPR-Banca d'Italia Labour Market Policies and Institutions Workshop in 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025 and the Banca d'Italia Labour Mobility and Migration Workshop in 2019. I am currently in the organizing commitee of the European Workshop on the Macroeconomic Implications of Migration (see the 2025 and 2026 edition webpages).

Immigration and Macroeconomic Outcomes in OECD Countries (with Mithali R. Mathur and Giovanni Peri) online as NBER working paper. The original project was prepared for and presented at the 2026 ECB Forum on Central Banking in Sintra (ECB-version paper here and Giovanni's presentation with insightful discussion by Hillel Rapoport and among the crowd here).
