Welcome to the Laboratory of Electron Microscopy and Spectroscopy (LEMS) in Gachon University.

Research in LEMS focuses on understanding the structure-property relationship of functional materials and exploring the photonic phenomena occurring at nano architectures with advanced electron microscopy techniques. The quantitative correlations between atomic structure and physical properties are studied using atomic-scale imaging, diffractions, and spectroscopies. The electronic states and optical modes are examined with a high spatial resolution using electron-beam spectroscopies. Our ultimate goal is to construct fundamental knowledge to drive important innovations in electronic, optoelectronic, magnetic, and photonic technologies.

We are currently looking for motivated undergraduate interns and graduate students. An exciting research opportunity on point-defect imaging in electronic devices and quantum materials is now open! For more information, feel free to contact Sangmoon Yoon.
