Gabriele Galimberti is a neo PhD in Computer Science. The PhD is obtained at the Department of Computer Science of the University of Milan. He was a member of the EveryWare Lab. His supervisor was Prof. Sergio Mascetti and his co-supervisor was Prof. Dragan Ahmetovic.
His research interests are in the area of mobile and pervasive systems, with a particular focus on the applicative fields of assistive technologies and sonification techniques.
In the field of assistive technologies, his research contribution consists in designing, developing and evaluating new solutions to support the intelligibility of audio instructions and mobility of people with disabilities, in particular people with visual impairment and blindness. Addressing these problems required to adopt, and in some cases extend, existing solutions from the state of the art in various disciplines, including mobile data management, computer-human interaction, computer vision, machine learning, and music informatics.
In his activities, he collaborated with:
Retina Italia odv (MI, IT - 2022);
Smith-Kettlewell Eye Research Institute (SFO, CA, US - 2023) supervised by James Coughlan;
University of Milan-Bicocca (MI, IT - 2025) supervised by Paolo Napoletano;
The whole (hopefully updated) Curriculum Vitae is available in English.
