Gabriele Galimberti worked for six months at Retina Italia odv.
During this period, he took part in the institute’s research activities. In the first two months, he conducted a study on the state of the art of technologies and methods for investigating the mobility of people with visual impairments. The results of this study were reported in a publication entitled "On the Independent and Sustainable Mobility of People with Visual Impairments", published in the proceedings of the Web4All23 conference.
In addition, Gabriele actively contributed to a study by Retina Italia odv on the propensity of Italian patients to undergo genetic testing for inherited retinal diseases, taking care of the organization and preliminary analysis of the data. The results of this work were published in the scientific article "Understanding the Propensity to Undergo Genetic Testing in Patients Affected by Inherited Retinal Diseases: a Twelve-Item Questionnaire" in the journal Ophthalmic Genetics.
Finally, with the support of Retina Italia odv, Gabriele started an investigation on sustainable mobility for people with visual impairments, a project that is currently ongoing.
