I think some of them do. For my composition to film, it is a very traditional, cinemetaic, orchestal piece, heavily inspired by Hanz Zimmer and John Williams. My tune "Game" perfectly fits into the genre of liquid dnb, it contains melodic emotional melodys, fat basslines, and drum breaks that automate tape delay to keep it interesting. My second song "Free" is a mash up of two genres. The first is a typical piano house tune, the piano carries the main melody, lots of layered precussion and old soul vocal samples. The second part is dancefloor drum and bass. This is due to the layered synth for the melodys, heavy drums with high hat loops and shuffles from tradinal drum breaks, and mulriple bass parts that work together beautifully.
Yes! Liquid drum and bass is made for people to listen too when they want to relax and unwind. My use of the poignant guitar melody and writing the song in a minor key really proves this. When listening to the house tune, it makes me think of beachs and summer. This was the target audience I wanted to create, so I believe I have achieved this. The music I composed for Harry Potter is powerful and emotioanl, which I believe to be perfect for the scene I wrote it too. Overall, the music is subtable for te target audience.
I'm really proud of my music to film, even though musically it is quite simple, my choice of instruments and arrangement really elevate it to a professional level. In "Game", I really like the live gutiar that I recorded. In "Free", using multiple differnet bass sounds, some that I made myself and others that I tweeked that were presets was really cool and I hope to contiune that in my futrue productions.
I really want to add some live instruments into my tunes. I think this would really elavate my music. I also want to improve my music thory to not just use simple four chord progrssions. I also want to improve my sound design to make my own unique bass sounds.
I will achieve this by working with other musicans in the department, such as pianists, or vocalsists. I am starting to write some music with a singer from my class, merging their ballad singing with liquid drum and bass. I have bought indusrty standred synth Serum and watching online tutoirals and messing about in it to make my own sound.
