This term I have really taken advantage of all the opertunites that have been thrown at me. This includes learning the different types of microphones and their uses inside of the recording studios, as well as making music in the studios with live rappers out of lesson time. Another facilitiy that I have really enjoyed is the TV studio. I used it for my Project 1: Performance to record a DJ set and it was so much fun. It made such a professional looking promo video that is going to get me gigs for this summer. Within my first few weeks, I got the chance to DJ at a fassion show in town which really helped my confidence when playing out live. I also recenlty partook in Battle of the Bands. This was great to do as it gave me a breif as the set had to be short, dynamic and include songs people knew. Even though, I did not win, I still think I achieved this. I really enjoyed the composition tasks. Having the chance to compose a piece of music to footage was amazing as you really had to focus on the emotion of the scene and capture it in the music. This term I also started to make another genre, house. This was a good edge for me as it gave me a chance to try something new. Judith's music lesson were also helpful, covering topics like the circle of 5ths really helped with forming chord progessions for my music. I also liked how I got to dive deep into the history of drum and bass, with it's Jamaican and rave scene origins.
