2.3: Areas on Maps

1) Lesson Objectives:

You should be able to 

• convert linear map scale to area map scale.

• use proportionality to find area in map or actual area.

Success Criteria:

I am able to 

• convert linear map scale to area map scale.

• connect the use of the area map scale to find either area in the map or actual area.

Pre-Requisite:

• conversion of units for: square kilometres, square metres, square centimetres and square milimetres.

Always look through all examples in textbook before lesson.
