♫ Music stores can provide quality instruments, repairs (and loaners during repairs), and even curbside service! I have provided a list of area music stores to shop, but please note that FCPS does not endorse a specific store.
♫ Fairfax County Public Schools offers instrument rental assistance to families who've applied for the "Instructional Rental Assistance Program." You will complete a contract for a county instrument (SAXOPHONE is NOT available through this program). You can indicate your qualification in this program on the band registration form.
♫ Fairfax Villa owns a limited number of Euphoniums and Tubas available to use for the school year (first come, first served basis). You will be given a contract to complete to secure one of these school-owned instruments.
It is recommended that all students purchase a wire music stand to promote proper posture and form good habits while playing their instruments.
Cleaning Rod (likely included with the rental & can be metal, wooden or plastic)
Cleaning Cloth (handkerchief, bandana, or a strip from an old cotton t-shirt works well) to pull through the eye of the cleaning rod
Box of Reeds
(Strength 2 or 2 ½) to be replenished throughout the year

Silk Cleaning Swab (felt swabs are notorious for breaking)
Saxophone Only: Neck Strap (likely included with the rental--you may want to use a small hand towel for extra cushion)
