As a 5th or 6th grader, you have the choice to participate in band or strings, but unfortunately, not both. I welcome you to learn more about the exciting opportunities in band! Membership is extended to any student who is interested regardless of previous instrumental music experience.
♫ Band classes will meet once per week for 60 minutes during the school day's specials block.
♫ Band is a year-long, grade-bearing class and students will receive marks on their report cards each quarter. You may only choose one instrument to play and commit to participating in band for the entire school year.
♫ We will perform two concerts this year! Concert dates (a winter concert in February and a spring concert in May) will be announced several months in advance to allow for planning.
♫ Regular home practice is essential for success!
♫ The schedule will be created and communicated once enrollment figures are finalized. You will receive an e-mail when classes are to begin the week of September 8th. Students will attend one 60 minute lesson on either Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday during their specials block.
Be kind and respectful to everyone and your instrument.
Always be prepared, stay focused, and ready and willing to learn.
Never give up and be dedicated to practicing each week. Complete assignments on time and put forth your finest effort.
