The Vision Behind the Towers

Fuzzy Towers Animal Foundation is a New Orleans-based nonprofit micro-rescue dedicated to increasing adoptability for dogs and cats at the Louisiana SPCA. We specialize in animals whose eye conditions — from cherry eye and corneal ulcers to glaucoma and enucleation needs — create financial barriers that too often end in euthanasia or long-term shelter stays. By funding and coordinating specialized veterinary eye care, we transform medically complex animals into healthy, adoption-ready companions.

Every animal deserves a shot at a forever home. We're here to make sure no animal loses sight of their way home.

Fuzzy Towers Animal Foundation was founded to support municipal shelters and humane societies by providing a dedicated safety net for animals with complex ophthalmological needs. We know that in a high-intake environment, specialized eye surgery often isn't feasible. That’s where we step in.

Our Partnership Model: The "Rescue Pull"

We operate as a specialized pull partner. When your veterinary staff identifies a candidate who needs care beyond the scope of general shelter medicine, Fuzzy Towers provides:

Total Medical Autonomy: Once a dog or cat is pulled into our rescue, we take 100% responsibility for their surgical costs, specialist consultations, and long-term medications.
Board-Certified Care: We partner directly with New Orleans’ top specialists—Dr. da Costa (Eye Center for Animals) and Dr. Mouney (MVOS)—to ensure the highest standard of surgeries.
Foster-Based Recovery: Our "Tower Guard" fosters are trained in post-operative eye care and rigorous medication schedules, ensuring the animal is stable and healing before being placed for adoption.
