By 2028, Future County Public Schools (FCPS) will be recognized as a leader in delivering world-class, inclusive education through a robust International Baccalaureate (IB) program, expanded access to Advanced Placement (AP) and dual enrollment opportunities, and a district-wide commitment to environmental sustainability. FCPS will equip all students with the academic, social-emotional, and technological skills needed to thrive in an evolving global society.

Goal: Broaden and deepen academic offerings to ensure rigorous, diverse, and inclusive education for all students.
IB Program Expansion: Continue to expand the range of IB courses offered, incorporating additional offerings across key areas like STEM, humanities, arts, and languages to meet the evolving needs of students across all grade levels.
Advanced Placement (AP) for 9th & 10th Graders: Provide 9th and 10th grade students with increased access to AP courses, ensuring that high-achieving students can engage with college-level content early on.
Dual Enrollment Expansion: Partner with local community colleges and universities to increase dual enrollment options for high school students. This will allow students to earn college credits while still in high school, enhancing both academic and career readiness.
Equitable Access: Ensure that all students, including historically underrepresented groups, have equal access to rigorous academic opportunities, with appropriate supports to guarantee success.
Goal: Enhance educational delivery by leveraging modern technology to provide a premium learning experience for all students and staff.
Technology Upgrade (2025–2026): Provide all students with new MacBooks, ensuring access to cutting-edge educational tools, software, and digital resources.
Professional Development: Offer ongoing training to teachers and staff to ensure effective and innovative use of technology in instruction.
Integrating Virtual Learning: Expand virtual learning offerings to include online courses, digital libraries, and virtual academic resources that extend learning beyond the traditional classroom.
Digital Equity: Close the digital divide by ensuring all students—regardless of socioeconomic status—have consistent access to devices, internet connectivity, and tech support both in school and at home.
Goal: Position FCPS as a leader in environmental responsibility and green innovation in education.
All-Electric School Buses: Transition to a fully electric school bus fleet by 2026 to reduce carbon emissions and promote sustainable transportation.
Solar Panels at All Schools and Central Offices: Install solar panels district-wide by 2027, beginning with pilot installations at select sites in 2025.
Energy Efficiency Upgrades: Retrofit all school buildings with energy-efficient systems, including LED lighting, HVAC upgrades, and improved insulation. Energy audits will begin in 2025, with major upgrades completed by 2026.
Sustainable Building Practices: Ensure all new construction and major renovations meet high standards for sustainability and energy performance, including the use of renewable energy and eco-conscious materials.
Goal: Promote holistic student development by embedding SEL and mental health supports across all grade levels.
Expand SEL Curriculum: Integrate comprehensive SEL programs across every grade level to build emotional intelligence, coping skills, and interpersonal awareness.
Increased Mental Health Services: Expand the district’s team of counselors and mental health professionals to ensure every student has access to timely, quality support.
SEL for High School Students: Implement targeted SEL programs for high school students to address academic stress, life transitions, and preparation for postsecondary education and careers.
Mentorship Programs: Launch a district-wide mentorship initiative pairing students with caring adult mentors or trained peer mentors who can provide academic, emotional, and career guidance.
