Kamal is currently pursuing his doctoral degree with our team. He completed his B.Sc. in Agriculture from Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya and his M.Sc. in Life Sciences from the National Institute of Technology Durgapur. He is investigating the role of KRAB-ZFPs in breast cancer. His other interests are reading novels and playing video games.
Sivakami is a candidate for a doctoral degree with CSIR-UGC Junior Research Fellowship. She has done her Master's in Botany from Kerala University, Trivandrum. Her interest lies in molecular biology, and she is especially curious to explore the uncharted territories in epigenetics and non-coding RNAs in cancer biology. She is focusing on the epigenetic regulation of cancer stem cells to unravel various mechanisms that drive therapy resistance and tumor recurrence. Other than academics, she also likes cooking and listening to music.
Shihabudeen joined our team as Ph.D. student in January 2025. He completed his B.Sc. in Zoology from Kerala University and his M.Sc. in Zoology from Central University of Kerala. He is focusing on epigenetic regulation of retrotransposon mediated viral mimicry in breast cancer. Other than research, he likes reading novels, playing cricket, and listening to music.
Soumi is currently working as a Project Assistant in our laboratory. She also did her Masters dissertation with us. She earned her M.Sc. in Biomedical Genetics from Vellore Institute of Technology. She is interested in exploring about gene deregulation and how it can influence human disease pathogenesis, especially cancer pathogenesis. At FGBL, she is working on understanding molecular mechanisms underlying retrotransposon expression and it's influence in breast cancer pathogenesis. Her other interests lie in drawing and traveling.
Swaliha rejoined our lab as an intern after completing her Master's dissertation in our laboratory. She completed her M.Sc. from the University of Calicut, Kerala. She is currently learning computational methods for high-throughput sequencing studies. She is interested in understanding complex pathways and how they may be modified to achieve tumor resistance. She is fascinated about epigenetic regulation, apoptosis, senescence, autophagy, and translational control. Beyond academics, she excels in public speaking and enjoys hosting events.
Sneha joined our lab as a Research Intern after completing her Master's in Biotechnology from Nottingham Trent University, UK. She is currently working on cloning and expression of human growth factors. She is interested in exploring novel approaches in cancer biology, particularly strategies for painless and targeted therapies. She is fascinated by molecular signaling pathways, growth factor regulation, and tumor microenvironment modulation. Beyond academics, she is a passionate dancer.
