Below you will find some answers to our most frequently asked questions. For any additional questions not answered below, please feel free to send us an email. We want all of our clinic participants to feel confident and comfortable.
What should I wear to the clinic?
Collarless shirt
Shorts or thin pants
Hat or Visor
Close toed shoes
A vest or shell pouch (if you have one, but not necessary)
Earrings are not advised
Sunscreen is recommended
Eye and Ear protection are required for all participants. We recommend bringing a pair of glasses/sunglasses with polycarbonate lenses. Foam earplugs will be provided for all clinic participants. Ear Muff style protection can sometimes get in the way of mounting the shotgun, but participants are welcome to bring whatever they prefer.
Must I have my own gun to participate in the clinic?
No, when you complete your registration you will let us know if you have your own shotgun and the gauge you are shooting. If you do not have your own we have plenty of demos made just for ladies.
Do I need my own ammunition?
No, we provide ammunition as part of the clinic for both 12 and 20 gauge shotguns, along with a golf cart shared by the other ladies in your group, as well as your instructor. Your coach will make sure you are always using the correct ammunition for the gauge of shotgun you are using. We are not able to provide ammunition for 28 gauge or .410 bore.
I have a pump shotgun, can I bring that to the clinic?
Although pump shotguns are less expensive and lighter, there are disadvantages to using them for sporting clays. If it is not your gun and you are not familiar with the operation and handling, it can distract the shooter from looking at the clays. We would recommend using one of our demo guns during the clinic.
I shoot a gauge other than 12 or 20, can I bring my gun?
Possibly, one of the clinic organizers will contact you prior to the clinic to discuss options. We only provide ammunition for 12 and 20 gauge shotguns. Some gauge guns are not permitted at certain clubs.
Can I bring someone under age (minor)?
Yes, both parents (if applicable) must provide permission by signing the waiver.
What happens if it is raining the day of the clinic?
Clinic organizers will contact participants if the clinic is cancelled for inclement weather. However, we always try to have the clinic even if we have some rain. Shooters are only pulled from the course in the case of lightning.
