Lauren Brown (Branford, CT)

Lauren Brown, with her husband John Herzan, was co-originator of the state scenic roads legislation, which was sponsored by then Senator Tom Sullivan.

 

Cynthia Davidson (Branford, CT)

Cynthia Davidson, Branford: Co-founder and executive director of the nonprofit Anyone Corporation www.anycorp.com , editor of the architecture journal Log and MIT Press's Writing Architecture series books; visiting professor at the Pratt Institute Graduate School of Architecture and Urban Design; visiting critic at the Cornell University College of Art, Architecture and Planning. Alan Fairbank (Guilford, CT)

19-year resident of Guilford on Leetes Island Rd (Route 146); completed a 30+-year career as consulting economist in international health in 30+ countries; began with five years in Peace Corps, Nepal; later, senior budget analyst Congressional Budget Office; also Executive Director, CT Office of Health Care Access (under Governor Lowell Weicker); BA, Swarthmore College; MPA, Princeton School of Public and International Affairs; PhD, Boston University; most recently received a Masters in Environmental Management degree (May, 2020) (mid-career!) from Yale School of the Environment, now dedicated to combating climate change and applying expertise in sea level rise/coastal defense to help adapt locally to what’s coming at us (Member, Guilford. Conservation Commission).

 

Kim Granbery (Guilford, CT)

Born and raised on Route 146. Graduated Rhode Island School of Design. Has a varied resume in multiple design fields, followed by a stint in alternative energy working in the wind power industry. Currently is owner operator of an oyster farm within sight of Historic Route 146. Also designs, builds, restores and repairs wooden boats.

John Herzan (Branford, CT)

John Herzan has dedicated his career to preserving Connecticut’s historic places. For 25 years John served as National and State Register Coordinator for the State Historic Preservation Office followed by 15 years as the Preservation Services Officer for the New Haven Preservation Trust. In 2018, Connecticut Preservation awarded John the Janet Jainschigg Award for professional excellence in historic preservation. Preservation figures in John’s volunteer activities as well. He and his wife Lauren Brown were leaders in the creation of Connecticut’s State Scenic Roads Program and currently John serves on several state and local boards dedicated to historic preservation and design review.
