Stefanie Stephens is the head choir director at Freeman High School with over 20 years experience, both at the middle and high school levels. Her choirs have consistently received sweepstakes awards at U.I.L. Concert & Sight-reading Contests and Best in Class at festivals around the state. In 2014, her Advanced Treble Choir was a Mark of Excellence National Winner for the Foundation of Music Education. Mrs. Stephens is an active adjudicator, clinician, presenter and accompanist throughout the greater Houston area. Mrs. Stephens graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Houston with her Bachelors of Music in 2006. Her professional affiliations include TMEA, TCDA, NAfME, and TMAA. Mrs. Stephens enjoys reading, cooking, sitting by the pool, and playing tabletop games with her family. 

Julie Rodriguez is a choral director entering her eighth year in music education. She spent seven years as Assistant Choir Director at Beckendorff Junior High in Katy ISD before joining Freeman High School. 

Julie holds a Bachelor's degree in Music Education from Stephen F. Austin State University and a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from Rice University. While in Houston, she had an opportunity to debut as a vocal soloist for the Houston Symphony’s “Resilient Sounds” Concert; a project dedicated to partnering young composers with members of the Houston refugee community to tell their story through music.  

In her first year teaching, Julie was selected as the “Rookie Teacher of the Year”. Her choirs consistently achieve superior ratings at UIL Concert and Sight Reading competitions, with her 6th Grade Treble group earning Best in Class honors. Most recently, her ensemble was selected as State Champions in the Perform America Next Level Competition.

Julie is married to Roland Rodriguez, a choir director at Paetow High School in Katy ISD. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her two pugs, Niko and Paloma.
