FREE Indivisible believes that an informed electorate is essential to a healthy democracy.

As part of our civic education mission, we provide information about candidates and elected officials so community members can better understand the people seeking to represent them.

FREE Indivisible does not endorse candidates or political parties. We encourage every voter to research candidates, review their positions, and make their own informed decisions,

Our Approach

FREE Indivisible shares information about candidates whose publicly available statements, voting records (when applicable), and stated positions demonstrate alignment with our values.

Our focus is not on party affiliation. Candidates may be considered for inclusion when their publicly available statements, voting records, and stated positions demonstrate meaningful alignment with the democratic values outlined below. 

Our goal is to provide voters with additional information about candidates who support the foundations of a healthy democracy.

Respecting Human Dignity and Equality

• Commitment to treating all people with dignity and respect

• Opposition to discrimination and efforts that limit equal rights

• Recognition that all members of our communities deserve a voice

Protecting Personal Freedom, Equality, and Individual Choice 

• Respect for individuals' ability to make personal decisions about their own lives, families, bodies, and healthcare. 

• Respect for the freedom of consenting adults to choose whom they love, marry, and build a life with. 

• Recognition that marriage equality and the freedom to marry the person one loves are fundamental aspects of individual liberty and equal treatment under the law.

FREE Indivisible reviews publicly available information, which may include:

• Candidate websites and public statements

• Public voting records (when available)

• Public forums, interviews, and debates

• Published policy positions

• Other publicly available information

We strive to apply the same criteria consistently and transparently.
