8th Jan 2023 - Barley

The A walk, led by Christine, is an end-to-end from Whalley to Barley. From Whalley it goes over Whalley Bank to follow the River Calder, over Cock Bridge then on a footpath which crosses the A671 to Read Hall. Continuing NE it follows footpaths and a road past Robinson's Wood and Hillside Farm to Whalley Road and on to Sabden. From there it ascends Pendle Hill via Oxden Clough, continuing N to descend to turn R on Pendle Road at Lane Head. A footpath cuts the corner between Pendle Road and Barley Lane which is followed down to Barley. This is a slightly shorter route than the one we did in Nov 2019.
