Promoting reading in the community and stopping books going to landfill
Opened in December 2016, Free Books Hatfield is an independent book rehoming charity located within The Galleria where you can take books home for free, and is run entirely by volunteers.
What we do
Here's a list of what we do for and in the community
You can take up to 8 books per visit absolutely free. No membership or registration is required.
Donations of books are very welcome. All of our books have been donated by people who want to give them a second life, and we promise they will not go to landfill.
Want to join our team? We'd love to have you. Just send us an email to fbh2016@outlook.com and we'll get in touch.
Since December 2016, Free Books Hatfield has rehomed over 460,000 books, a number which keeps increasing every day.
We stock everything from general fiction, fantasy, and crime through to classics, history, cookery, nature, and children's books.
Free Books Hatfield is a registered charity with the Charity Commission for England and Wales number 1167923.
