FIRST and FIRST Robotics Competition

A few official FIRST and FRC resources and information. (Less applicable information wasn't included here)

For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology - The organization responsible for the FIRST robotics programs. Their goal is to get students interested in STEM classes and fields through competitions that give them a fun and exciting opportunity to learn about STEM, robotics, and teamwork.

FIRST Robotics Competition - FRC is the level of competition reserved for high school students (grades 9-12). It is the original robotics competition program created by FIRST, dating back to 1992. These games have the largest fields, the largest robots, and the most public attention drawn to them when compared to other FIRST competitions.

FIRST in Michigan - FiM is the FRC district that all teams from Michigan belong to. With just over 500 teams, it's more than double the size of the next largest FRC district. Many amazing teams hail from this area, which has helped to make the Michigan State Championship one of the most difficult and interesting competitions out there.

FRC Reference and Resources

Community sites and services that provide helpful and useful information for both FRC teams and team members.

Awesome FRC - A community curated list of helpful packages and info for FRC teams. While containing some general information, this resource focuses mainly on packages and information for programming.

The Blue Alliance - TBA is a resource containing extensive amounts of FRC match data and footage from both official and off-season events. While its primary purpose and function is as a tool to assist teams with scouting (a process of monitoring other teams to gather information to assist in making smart alliance selections) during official events, it's also a great way to find match info from previous seasons.

The Compass Alliance - This website provides a wide variety of resources to help new and growing teams learn more about any aspect of running an FRC team and creating a robot. It also allows small teams to find and connect with other teams willing to provide assistance and/or share resources in order to help them grow.

FIRST Alliances - This site aims to help teams network with each other in order to find summer programs for team members to attend, mentors with prior experience to help new teams, and more.

FIRST Map - A community-made map with many filters available showing the relative location of all FRC teams around the world.

Hauppauge Robotic Eagles - Team 358's website contains a vast amount of resources in addition to a large archive of historical FRC photos, videos, and documents.

FRC Media

Photos and videos of and about FRC events from the community.

FIRST Updates Now - FUN is a podcast about FRC events, news, the community, and more. FUN also does occasional giveaways and streams footage of certain off-season events on the Twitch channel.

Photographers - Many volunteer photographers come to FRC events to capture pictures of the competitions and the teams.

Robozone - A television show airing on Fox Sports Detroit that covers FRC teams and competitions in Michigan that features match coverage, highlights, exclusive interviews, and more.

FRC Community

Places made by members of the FRC community for members of the community to share, help, and discuss with each other.

Chief Delphi Forums - A forum site dedicated completely to FRC discussion. The name comes from Team 47 - Chief Delphi (through a team merge, they are now Team 51 - The Wings of Fire).

Discord - A chat program designed around having user-created servers with multiple text and voice channels, allowing for a quick and simple way to interact with other members of a community. Naturally, FRC servers were created by some students.

Reddit (r/FRC) - A site made to post photos, videos, and stories relating to certain topics or themes, which each have their own sections of the site pertaining to them, known as "subreddits."
