German Ambassador Program

Program Details

The German Ambassador Program is an opportunity for CHS students to serve their community and help grow interest in the German language. Ambassadors will tutor students in their school and community and will also teach German culture/language basics through lessons, songs, games, activities, skits, etc.

Why Be an Ambassador?

Ambassadors are the cream of the crop!

  • Participating as an Ambassador will look great on college, sterling scholar, scholarship, and job applications!
  • Ambassadors will receive training in how to be a leader and will learn how to work with groups of people. This is great preparation for those wanting to go into education, business, healthcare, and many other fields!
  • Ambassadors will get to know new peers and develop strong friendships
  • Ambassadors give back to their community! (This counts for community service and CAS hours)
  • Ambassadors improve their own language skills through teaching others
  • ES MACHT GANZ VIEL SPAß!!!

Ambassador Expectations

  • Commit to two Fridays a month after school for 1-1.5 hours
      • May need transportation to get to local After School Program
  • Some ambassadors may be asked to tutor their peers (on an as needed basis) either at school, during late start, or during Falcon Focus
  • Conduct self in a responsible, mature way. Be a leader!
  • Create ideas/fun activities for students to learn more about German
  • Have a good attitude
  • Promote German to peers and community members
  • Maintain a 3.0 overall GPA (3.5 in German class)

Ambassador Application

Applications and Parent Permission Slip Due: September 15th to Frau B.

How are Ambassadors Chosen?

Ambassadors are chosen through the submission of applications, academic eligibility requirements, teacher questionnaire, and possibly a short interview.
