We are incredibly proud to share that Jefferson has been named a 2024 School of Recognition by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) due to its significant growth in achievement on the 2024 MCAS.
Jefferson students met or exceeded targets across all indicators, with a significant increase in high-needs learners scoring at or above expectations. This is the highest percentage in five years—more than double last year’s and nine points higher than the 2021 record!
We're so proud of our students and staff for their hard work, so we did a surprise breakfast on Thursday for them. Featuring coffee, juice, and a delicious spread from local businesses.
If you are not sure about chairing a committee but would like to volunteer your time, please complete the form here to let us know. Thank you for your support!
BOTTLES AND CANS COLLECTION - FRIDAY MAY 2ND.
Who will collect the most this year??
Winners for May are the 3rd Graders again!!!
A total of 1,759 cans were collected across the school,
Raising $78.12
Can you help us to make our June collection even bigger?
June 6th is the date! Keep up the hard work.
Jefferson Elementary students, staff, and families have been bringing redeemable bottles and cans in for over 20 years. We've collected well over 1,000,000 bottles and cans! Teachers are reimbursed for classroom spending through this account. Collections will be on Friday of the first full week of every month.
Our next collection is FRIDAY, June 6th. Volunteers will be out front and at the looper line Friday morning. Since our next collection isn't until November, let's make it a double prize month! The top TWO grades will earn something special, so start collecting now! (and recognition on the website, of course).
A few things to note:
DON'T FORGET TO RINSE YOUR BOTTLES AND CANS! (would you want to sort gross bottles and cans that haven't been rinsed? Neither do our B&C volunteers!)
If it isn't redeemable for $0.05 in MA, keep it home to recycle
NO GLASS (plastic bottles and aluminum cans only). . . and yes, beer cans are accepted without judgment!
Please separate plastic bottles from aluminum cans , if possible
Please count plastic bottles and aluminum cans, if possible
