About me: I'm a postdoc in algebraic geometry at the Institut de Mathématiques de Jussieu-Paris Rive Gauche (IMJ-PRG), and my mentor is Olivier Debarre. I obtained my PhD in mathematics at the Université de Lorraine, under the supervision of Gianluca Pacienza and Giovanni Mongardi. I obtained my Master's degree (in mathematics) at the Università degli Studi di Milano, under the supervision of Paolo Stellari. Even before, I obtained my Bachelor's degree at the Università della Calabria, under the supervision of Francesco Polizzi.
This is the bow tie I wore on the day of my PhD defense.
Where I'll be:
From October 2025, I will be a post-doc at the Universität des Saarlandes, with Vladimir Lazić as mentor.
Research interests:
K-trivial varieties
Mori dream spaces
Positivity in Algebraic Geometry
Birational Geometry
Minimal Model Program
This picture was taken by Enrico Fatighenti, which I thank, during the conference "Fano&HK in Genova".
Below are some random pictures (click on the arrow for the description):
Pink Floyd originally commissioned a helium filled pig to fly over Battersea Power Station in 1978 to be photographed for the front cover sleeve of their new Album 'Animals'.
This is a twilight shot from my hometown, Curinga. The volcano appearing on the horizon is the Stromboli, which is part of the archipelago of the Aeolian Islands. The picture was taken by Tommaso Pizzonia.
This is some charcuterie from my hometown (and of Calabria in general). It is called "fhozzizzu" (but, for instance, in other calabrian places it could be called "sazizza"). In general, they are prepared after Christmas time. The red colour is given by the amount of chili pepper used to prepare it (but don't worry, it is not that spicy). The meat used is strictly pork.
This is a famous painting by Caravaggio. It is known as "La compa(r)izione, Sake su tatami". The painting was rediscovered by Ludovica Buelli, whom I thank very much. (Joke)
