NEW: Deadline January 23, 2026 – Long Island City Artists (LIC-A) currently has a call for entries for an upcoming curated exhibition titled “Ghost Town,” which will be on view from February 11 – March 11, 2026. “‘Ghost Town’... is a meditation on abandoned, vacant, or deserted places and objects that often evoke profound feelings of desolation, melancholy, or nostalgia. Part homage to these overlooked remnants of the past and part cautionary tale about transience and neglect, the artworks in this exhibition invite viewers to reflect on familiar signs, storefronts, and locations that many of us encounter during our travels and in everyday life.” There is a $30 application fee for non-members ($15 for members).
NEW: Deadline February 2, 2026 – Human Impacts Institute is inviting submissions for the 2026 Creative Climate Awards (CCA), a series of exhibitions and performances addressing climate change which is scheduled to take place April 16 – May 14, 2026. “The Human Impacts Institute’s Creative Climate Awards (CCA) is an annual series of events showcasing artists who address climate change through their creative works. This year’s theme, Collective Power, invites artists to use their creativity to spark collective action and help shift the climate narrative toward justice, solidarity, and real-world impact. We welcome submissions of all 2D works, films (shorts and features), 3D works (sculptures and installations), as well as performances (dance, theater, music, etc.). We strongly encourage artists from underrepresented communities and those most impacted by climate change to apply.” There is no application fee.
Deadline February 8, 2026 – The NYC Department of Transportation Art Program (NYC DOT Art) is inviting proposal submissions from professional artists to be installed during Car-Free Earth Day and/or Summer Streets at designated sites as a one-day installation. “Car-Free Earth Day is a single day, annual car-free event held the Saturday before or after Earth Day, April 22 at signature locations across all five boroughs. Summer Streets is an annual celebration of New York’s public space that takes place on five Saturdays from the morning to the afternoon.” There is no application fee.

Deadline February 23, 2026 – AlterWork Studios is currently seeking work for an upcoming gallery exhibition titled “Fiber,” which will be on view March 7 – March 28, 2026. “This exhibition aims to showcase a wide range of works related to the fiber medium and textile techniques. We welcome artists whose work is rooted in traditional fiber materials, frameworks and processes as well as those pushing the boundaries of contemporary fiber art.” There is no entry fee.

Deadline February 24, 2026 – The Shed is calling for entries for Open Call Fifth Edition (2027/2028). “Born out of The Shed’s commitment to act as a platform for NYC-based, early-career artists working in a range of artistic disciplines, Open Call selects, fosters, and presents new work. The program showcases a wide, multiborough range of voices, lived experiences, and perspectives, demonstrating the multitude of ways in which artists are working today. Participants for Open Call's fifth edition will be selected in fall 2026. The Shed will support selected projects with a commissioning fee of up to $15,000 of producing stewardship per artist or collective as well as in-kind financial, artistic, and production support managed by The Shed.” There is no application fee.

NEW: No deadline listed – Humans of NY is looking for NYC photoraphers who document their own communities to participate in an exhibition being hosted in one of NYC’s most iconic locations. Special consideration will be given to portraiture. Ten photographers

Deadline Rolling – Foundation For The Contemporary Arts Emergency Grants is a year-round, multi-disciplinary program that offers immediate, project-based assistance to artists living and working anywhere in the United States, for projects occurring in
the U.S. and abroad. Each month FCA receives an average of 100 Emergency Grant applications and makes approximately 15-20 grants in the range of $500 to $3,000 each. Applicants may request any amount in that range and, if granted, may receive full or partial
funding. The average grant is currently $1,900.

Deadline Rolling – Gottlieb Emergency Grant is intended to provide interim financial assistance to qualified painters, printmakers, and sculptors whose needs are the result of an unforeseen, catastrophic incident, and who lack the resources to meet that
situation. Each grant is given as one-time assistance for a specific emergency, examples of which are fire, flood, or emergency medical need.
