Material Reinvention– opened January 15. Co-curated by vermillion (Ella Veres) and Tara Sansone.The show features artwork that incorporates rescued, upcycled, and discarded materials. Related programming includes a ‘trashion’ fashion show parade, repair and mending workshops, a clothing swap, and more.
On the Horizon
Encased: A Study of Skin curated by FH artist Nancy Caton and guest curator Submissions due: ~February March 21st – May 13th Encased focuses on the themes of skin, encasement, and wrapping. In particular, it highlights what is visible and what is shown, with the implication that what is underneath could be greatly different. The show also addresses the topic of wrapping, both as a form of protection and as a more philosophical concept of the intentional curation of an outward image.
Outsider Art Fair 2026, March 19-22nd. The Outsider Art Fair is the only fair dedicated to showcasing self-taught art, art brut, and outsider art from around the world. FH has a booth at this fair. The booth is curated by the gallery.
Compulsive Genius: New Work by Fountain House Studio Artists Submissions due: ~early April May 28th – July 15th Each year, Compulsive Genius showcases new work from artists who have completed a studio residency.
Stepping Out of Isolation July 23rd – August 15th Exhibition showcasing a yearlong collaboration between Fountain House and Bethlem Gallery (London,UK) artists. TBD Fall Exhibition Submissions due: ~July September 10** - Oct 28**
Small Works 2026 Submissions due: October. Nov 12**-Dec 24** Each year, Small Works: $100 & Under features hundreds of small-scale artworks, sized at 6 x 6 inches or less.
