Late Sri. N. V. Prabhu aka Narayana Venkateswara Prabhu was a popular figure in the social, cultural, political realms in Alleppey in early 1960s. He was a great man with a great vision who accomplished a great venture, setting up of the first private medical college, in Kerala, to fulfill the dreams of many young minds who would have not made it into studying medicine in late 1960s.
The T. D. Medical College, Alappuzha was the his dream come true which he hailed as ' A Child of my hopes and a cherished dream come true.
Honouring his contributions towards the socio-political domain of Alappuzha, Pazhanavangadi-Thirumala Road is named as N. Venkateswara Prabhu Road by the Alappuzha Municipal Corporation.
