Our Vision for Mobile Care

Foundations FYI is building toward a Mobile Care Center that can bring real, practical help directly to people experiencing homelessness, hardship, and crisis throughout the Flathead Valley.

Our vision is a mobile care unit designed to meet immediate needs while also helping people take meaningful next steps toward greater stability. Rather than expecting people to travel from agency to agency, we want to bring essential services directly into the community and meet people where they are with dignity, compassion, and practical support.

We envision a Mobile Care Center equipped with two showers, a laundry area with washer and dryer capability hot enough to help eliminate bed bugs, a kitchen for meal support and food service, and an office space where people can sit down with someone who will help them work through paperwork, identify resources, and connect with the services they need.

This office and support area is an important part of the vision. Our goal is not only to provide showers, laundry, meals, hygiene supplies, and basic necessities, but also to help people move forward by making sure they understand their options, complete important paperwork, and get connected with the right community resources, organizations, and next steps.

The Mobile Care Center is meant to be more than a vehicle. It is meant to be a place of practical care, connection, and hope.

Today, Foundations FYI is already serving people through weekly outreach at Depot Park and by taking food and supplies directly into homeless camps. The Mobile Care Center represents the next step in that mission, allowing us to expand what we can do and bring even more support directly to the people who need it most.
